BE SAFE! Compared to a typical automobile, motorcycle brake lights are simply too small to attract immediate attention. This is especially true for the cruisers because they are mounted so low to the ground. TailBlazer overcomes this by rapidly flashing the tail lights the instant you apply the brakes. The flash rate then slows down to a steady ON - this cycle lasts about 4 seconds. This flash pattern is called a Deceleration Warning. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) suggests that you pump your brakes at each stop. TailBlazer does it automatically, and by flashing both filaments for a maximum brightness. 100HD unit is designed to handle up to four (4) tail light bulbs - for most Harleys, Honda Valkyrie, Magna, VTX and other cruiser models with grounded tail lamp housings. 100HD unit has a high-side interrupt circuit to allow flashing of the bright brake filaments. This makes it easy to install with a just a single wire splice. 100HD unit fits in the tail section or under the seat. What do they see? As soon as you tap your brakes, drivers behind you will see the brake light(s) modulate rapidly at first then slow down to a solid ON over a period of four (4) seconds.This sudden flashing invokes immediate attention. What will they think? TailBlazer uses a flash pattern which decays exponentially - a well-recognized deceleration warning. The attention to the initial flashing now changes to a clear recognition that you're beginning to slow down! Simply flashing brake lights or flashing them on & off will get the attention of drivers behind you, but it doesn't invoke anything else. Every split second of delay in their reaction reduces your safety margin. There is no sacrifice to the life of your bulb because TailBlazer utilizes a soft-switching technology. It throttles the current flow through the bulb filament, so that there's no ""thermal shock"" due to a sudden inrush of current, which can damage the bulb filament or shorten it's life considerably. This is far superior than maintaining a small voltage! The internal circuitry is controlled by a microprocessor, which allows precise flash patterns, overload detection and reverse polarity protection. Will the TailBlazer 100HD Brake Light Flasher work with my motorcycle? The 100HD is a one-wire splice-in unit, which is designed for Harleys and most motorcycle models with chassis grounded tail light housings, such as the Honda Valkyrie, Honda Magna and Honda VTX. If your motorcycle is not listed, please call us, toll-free, 1-866-496-3184. Is the TailBlazer 100HD Brake Light Flasher legal in my state? Yes. The TailBlazer 100HD is legal in all 50 states. I have hooked-up the TailBlazer 100HD Brake Light Flasher but when I apply the brakes there's no flashing, only a high frequency flicker. What's going on? Refer to the installation instructions for proper connections. Reversing the input/output will not damage the unit but the flash pattern will flicker. Note! All splice-in Tail Blazer units have the same polarity. I have hooked-up TailBlazer 100HD Brake Light Flasher but when I apply brakes, nothing happens. What's wrong? Refer to the installation instructions for proper connections. The unit must be grounded to a good chassis ground. Remove any paint on the surface where you are attaching ground wire. You should have good metal-to-metal connection. Make sure that any terminals that have been attached to wires have been installed correctly and tightly.
