My cat is scared of pretty much nothing, except mushrooms. Is this a normal fear for cats?
Question regarding cats?
hi, i was wondering, is it wrong to microwave a cat?i have already microwaved 8 cats and 10 turtles, and 3 babies
What warm treats do cats like?
My cat was outside for who knows how long shes an Indoor cat and she was soaked and cold. I cuddled her in a blanket and put her in front of my heater but I am still worried. I tried giving her something warm to drink but she doesn't like milk so that wont help. Plz, tell me is there anything warm that cats would like??? I might just be going overboard but I wanna make sure shes okay. Any answer you have is dearly appriciated.
Is it safe to leave my cats on their own for 4 days?
I will be vacationing with my family and initially i was very reluctant to go but my mum insisted since everything's already paid for. She's not a cat person and doesn't understand why i can't just leave them with some food and water and they'll be fine. Is she right? With sufficient food and water, will they be fine? I have 2 cats, one a very independent 7 year old male cat, the other a female cat not too sure of her age she's a rescued stray who sleeps on my lap everyday and licks my face a lot PI've never left my female cat alone for more than a day before and i'm worried about her. Will they survive? Won't they get bored? They're both indoor cats and they're allowed outside once a day. Will they be scratching at the door? If it's ok for me to leave them, what extra precautions should i take, besides leaving them enough food and water?Wow.. i really need to think this through. There's nobody to check in on them. So i've considered local pet hotels. Problem is, the cost, and also the sudden change of environment. I'll try to research more online.
Should I get another cat to join my 2 cats?
There is a kitten young cat needing a good home. It was found and taken in by an elderly couple and I am going around to see her tonight. The only thing I am concerned about it that I have 2 cats Dodge Male 4 years Silky Female, 1.5 years and they took quite a while to settle down with each other, and Dodge displayed slight jealous behaviour for a while. Even now they have their moments where they meet on the stairs and swat each other. So I am worried that they both might not take well to another cat in the house, any advice?I would hate Dodge as he is an outdoor cat to run away cos he feels threatened Silky is an indoor cat,so I am not as worried about her, and also they both have they own places in the house, Silky has downstairs lounge and my daughter's bedroom and Dodge has my bedroom, and they both meet in the kitchen for food and they rarely venture into each other's territories so where will the new cat go??
Spay and neuter dogs/cats....kinda long.?
some of you people say to spay our pets okay heres some news.some of us dont have money to get that done and plus some dont even have money to take themselves to the doctor muchless the dog or cat.you rich people have more opportuninty for all that you guys are lucky cause were working our butts off for us to have food at home and most of you guys are just partying around.and you all actually have money to get this done on your pets and so much money to take yourself to the doctor.so if any had a question about their pet they might dont have money to take them to the vet maybe thats why they need some advice.spay and neuter???
One of my cats broke her arm somehow.?
its one of her front arms. she is eating well and finding comfortable positions to rest and sleep in. she is starting to use the arm again, kinda limping on it. im afraid i have waited too long to have it reset. she is going to the vet tomorrow morn. do you think after two days they will re break it before they set it? and if so, will they " knock her out" ?

Save my house from my cats?!?
Suzie was born inside our house and has never in her life used the litter box. We tried to train her, regardless of all our tactics and the tips we received from vets and advice websites, nothing ever worked. She's 4 years old, has went to the vet and got a clear bill of health, she's been spayed, but she constantly urinates and poops all over the living room. She likes to go outside, and we let her, but she will NOT do her business outside. She'll scratch at the door to come in and once she does, she soils the living room carpet and then wants to go back outside to play some more. We tried leaving her outside, but she'll hold it in until she's sick if we don't just let her in and clean up after she's done. The horrible thing of the matter is that most of our other cats are following in her pawprints and the house is becoming nearly uninhabitable. The difference is that the other cats aren't inhibited by which room they go in though. From bedrooms, to dirty laundry, kitchen counters, appliances, the dining room table. They'll urinate EVERYWHERE, but they WILL poop in the litter box, which is one up on Suzie. We love our cats and the majority are already fixed and those that aren't are going to be very soon. We keep the litter boxes clean and it's strange how they'll poop in the litter box but urinate everywhere else. So I need two pieces of advice. 1 What can I do to stop them from soiling the carpets, counters, and pretty much everywhere. They're not normal, they LIKE the smell of oranges and lemons, even vinegar , so those kinds of deterrents don't work O O...2 What can I do to get rid of the smell. I know apple cider vinegar is great for clothes, sheets, and such, but the carpet is so rancid and we really can't afford nor do we have the man power to pull it up or change it. I'm DESPERATE on getting rid of the smell and odors. It's stifling About us We live in the country with numerous indoor cats. My dad is a stroke patient and we recently lost our beloved dog Jack. We're all attached to these cats and can't bare to throw them away. Yes money is tight at the moment, but we're getting by and you can't replace love. There are dangerous animals that lurk in the woods around our house at night, so we don't allow any of them to stay outside unless it's during the day and we're home, in which case they always stay around the back patio anyway. I really don't know what to do anymore to get them trained and stop making our house to unpleasant. Most people who used to visit has even stopped coming because of the smell that just won't go away. I completely appreciate any and all advice that can help make our house a home again and put our felines back to being behaved pets.

How long is cat contagious?
One of my cats was recently diagnosed with feline panleukopenia. After a week of illness he went to a better vet and stayed there for a week. He is now home, and I have to keep him seperate from the others but for how long? The other two had vaccinations but quite a few years ago. They didn't get sick the whole time Mao was at home and ill, what is the chance they could get sick now? I am in China and the comunication between me and vet isn't great.OH, the other two are getting their boosters now, but the vet said it would take a couple of weeks for full effect

Cat Section: Your opinions on this act of animal cruelty please?
Also posted in the dog section I once lived in this county and now stay about 30 minutes away from the site where this happens on a daily basis. So many of us in rescue were thrilled to see someone stand up from outside our state. Here in Bladen County, the next county over, it is a totally different story and it involves having animal control officers who care, as well as all the rescue groups working together with animal control.Anyone in our county who fails to treat an animal in county custody with respect is dismissed from their duties. This is how it should be.My husband and I lived in the county where this happens for a long time. This lady wrote the truth and she wrote a very factual account. We really do want national coverage on this. We want a public outcry. What are your thoughts and would you be willing to sign a petition to the Governor of our state if we start one? This is attempting to be white washed. Must we stand silently by and watch this " go away," lost in a field of political rhetoric?I, for one, do not intend to sit by now that others have seen the cruelty. It is time to stop this, to stop these vicious acts wherever they occur.I love the state where I was born, and I expect our elected officials to respond. But it seems when anyone attempts to post on her board concerning this now we get a malicious content warning. This has happened to several of us in the state. I had posted a question about this earlier today and had to remove the question because I was having issues with my computer after having linked to the governor's site. Now I am linking to the actual letter. Let's hope I have better results.Thank you in advance.facebook.com note.php?note id 367057528831& id 100000749283610& ref ssThe state is North Carolina. Governor Beverly Purdue is not really responding to this.I would like to ask our President, since he did speak in favor of animal rights at one time what he thinks about a governor from his political party refusing to act when asked. and that is not meant to slam any political affiliation...just a statement Oh, most cats get put down almost as soon as they come in. They are declared feral and a menace. Though I am sure this will be denied too, but we have seen it for years. We have begged for help from the Humane Society.... ZILCH.
