Why is my cat biting under my kittens neck?
I have a 1 1 2 year old male neutered cat and we just brought in a 3 month old, not spayed female cat. Over the past week they've been getting along pretty well I guess. They rough house, and stuff like that. But last night, they were both sitting on the bed together. The male cat was licking the kitten all over her body. I know that's normal but the next part scared me. He slowly inched towards her neck, under neath her chin you know, where the windpipe is and stuff like that He then bit, or grabbed on with his mouth under her neck. At first the ktiten, who was passed out sleeping , didn't do anything. Then she opened her eyes and made this weird sound. I moved the male away from her. He approached again, started to lick her and then bit under her chin again I got scared because it looked like he was trying to kill her. Is this normal? Is my male cat showing aggressive behavior? Should I seperate them again? I'm afraid that he'll do it again and really hurt her. Please, any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Why is my cat biting me...?
She's a two year old female, and I've been with her, and acted as a mother figure to her, for most of that time. She's quite affectionate, and lately she'll wrap herself around my hand and bite it. Not hard enough to draw blood, but just enough to leave marks, and it hurts only a bit. I think she purrs while doing this. Also, whenever I touch my foot to her belly while she's lying on the ground, tummy exposed, she curls herself around my foot and bites it, slightly harder. Why??
Why does my cat bite my other cat when their grooming eachother?

What does it mean when cat bites a kitten's throat?
i have a 4 yr old male DSH neutered recently we started fostering cats and brought home a nursing 1yr old non spayed mother and her 3 wk old male kittten obviously not neutered . our male cat henry is large, outgoing and social loves people, but we got him a year ago so don't have much history on his temperment with other cats dogs although the shelter said he got along well with the shelter cats we did have another cat at the time, a mild mannered 6 yr old spade female, whom he eventually tortured so badly we had to give her to my mom. Hence, I know he has aggression potential.Sometimes he will lick the kitten, sometimes ignore it, he usually shows interested but is not manic. He has also even woken me up several times at night by meowing when the kitten has gotten out of the bathroom and is wandering around in the hallway...is he protecting it or am i misreading this? Last night he even carried the kitten into our bedroom by its scruff like he was its mother...we were stunned as to why he would do this. Then later, the kitten was sleeping in the back of its cat carrier and he walked right into it, licked and nudged it, and then turned around and laid down in the front of the carrier. is he protecting it? when the mother came in and freaked he refused to move and i had to drag his 14lb dead weight out of the carrier. when she left he promptly went back into the carrier.what concerns me is on two occasions while interacting with the kitten he has put his paw arm over the kitten, leaned in and bit his throat...not hard, to draw blood or anything, and it doesnt last long because i shoo him away, but it still concerns me. the kitten doesn't say do anything and didn't seem hurt, but this was the same behavior he used to do to our previous cat when he was playing bullying her. i looked on the internet and asked our vet and no help..is this aggression? is he establishing dominance? is he just playing? if so, does he know to be gentle? He is 14lbs and the kitten is barely a lb...I just want to make sure I can leave them alone without something bad happening...also, the mom has seen him with the kitten and is mostly not concerned by him touching the baby.any assistance appreciated
Can I treat a cat bite infection with Cipro (Ciprofloxacin)?
Please, MEDICAL responses only Note that you are NOT providing medical advice if you are a 16 year old with Google .Yesterday I was bitten by my cat serenity in the meaty part of the palm of my hand at the base of the thumb, by one of my house cats my fault, I was " wrestling" her with my hand and didn't pull back when she growled . It was a goodly bite, enough to bleed freely, though the actual tear is only about 1cm. The bite itself is approximately 1cm in length, perhaps 1.5 2cm below the lowermost joint of the thumb. I immediately flushed it with hot water and anti bacterial soap, and then used some of that hand sanitizer goop. She's current with all of her shots I'm 100% certain on that piece , but it appears to be infected. It's been getting progressively more uncomfortable throughout the day. Visually, it's nominally swollen I have a visible bump surrounding the penetration , and red for perhaps a half inch in diameter around the mark. More troubling is the stiffness and actual discomfort, maybe a 2 3 on the pain scale I feel down the length of my thumb, and the tingling sensation I feel as far away as 2 inches.I'm well aware that there's an 80 % chance of infection from a cat bite, and that spreading pain is a bad sign. I'm also aware that P. Multocida is the likely culprit. Cipro can be used in cases of a penicillin allergic patient I'm not penicillin allergic, but I have Cipro on hand . Is it a sufficient treatment without a secondary clindamycin? , or should I be concerned?Seeing as I went out of my way to be precise and clear. I'm addressing Caf Mocha Valencia's response My CAT is FINE. I DID NOT BITE HER. SHE BIT ME.That said, thanks for playing, you're dismissed. I have no clue how you're holding a 55% without actually reading the questions.Tennis., thank you, that was a very salient, relevant response. I'm aware that as a monotreatment it's not 100%, but I have a hysterical med student fiance screaming I need to rush to the hospital ASAP. I'm disinclined to concur with that. but you've provided some points of reference I was unaware of. Thank you. When they are well reasoned, coherent responses, such as that of Tennis., that provide me with details I can verify online, then yes, yes I do. When they come in the form of petty vengeful ignorance, no, not really. I suppose the key differential lies in the fact that I hold very little value to an arbitrary assignation of knowledge.Surprising that someone who has earned 49,000 " points" for answering random people's queries questions the intelligence of listening to " random people on the internet" , isn't it?Mocha This is genuinely staggering... please, PLEASE READ the question Hell, read THIS add on of details. I will say ONE MORE TIME... My CAT'S health is immaculate She's FINE I'm NOT trying to supplant veterinary knowledge with online advice I got bitten ME Not the cat The cat is current on all shots I human ... was... BITTEN past participle of 'bite' ... BY... MY... CAT feline .Can I human use Ciprol antibiotic medicine to treat make ouchie go bye bye the bite chew chew that my CAT meow meow gave ME cat's daddy .How in God's name have you answered 50k worth of questions with a 55%?
Question about a cat bite?
I got bit by our cat pretty badly on my arm yesterday. She is epileptic and deaf and has a lot of psychological problems, so she did not mean to bite me because she is pretty much out of it mentally. The cut is pretty deep but looks much better now and we have cleaned it with surgical scrub and hydrogen peroxide about three times yesterday and once this morning. It looks okay, but it is warm to the touch, very sore, and swollen. Should I be worried? We're afraid to go to the doctor because they will want to test our cat for rabies and everything and will want to put her down, and we know she is not rabid. I had a tetanus shot about 5 years ago. Any suggestions? Is this a normal part of the healing? Thanks. It is also a bit red around the cut. This particular cat is not vaccinated because she never goes outside due to her deafness she cannot hear us calling her to take her epilepsy medicine and she would die , but our other four that do go outside cats are all vaccinated so there's no way that she could get rabies.
How can I stop one of my cats biting the other cat?
I have two cats, one is a three year old desexed male and the other is a 16 month old desexed female. We have had the male since he was seven months old and the female since she was eight weeks old. They have always gotten along well together but for some reason, in the last few days, the male has become quite aggressive. He has started biting and kicking the other cat and I just noticed that he has drawn blood on her head and at the top of her tail. I can keep an eye on them during the day when I am home but I am worried about leaving her alone with him when I am out and during the night. She can't sleep in the bedroom with my husband and I because we have our new baby in the room. We only live in a small apartment, so there is nowhere else I can put them to separate them. I really need to find a way to stop his behaviour. Any suggestions? They are both indoor cats and the male is also deaf. They have plenty of toys and scratch posts, so I don't think he is doing it out of boredom. They also have separate feeding bowls and water.
Why when a cat bites or scratches it is ok and the cat doesn't get punished but when a dog bites it is not ok?
and the dog gets punished?Isn't that speciasm? It is your fault dogs have owners but cats have staff? When a cat scratches or bites me I put their face down of the floor and push them down hard or slam their bodies on the floor.I squeeze the scruff of their neck or skin.I will not let a small weak cat walk all over me.Oh cats can't be trained and do what they want to do.I am sick of those excuses and stereotypes about ctas.
Why do gray with black striped cats bite more often than other colored cats?
