Question: Why is my cat biting under my kittens neck?
(Posted by: Shafagh H on 2010-07-20 11:38:41)
I have a 1 1/ 2 year old male neutered cat and we just brought in a 3 month old, not spayed female cat. Over the past week they've been getting along pretty well I guess. They rough house, and stuff like that. But last night, they were both sitting on the bed together. The male cat was licking the kitten all over her body. I know that's normal but the next part scared me. He slowly inched towards her neck, under neath her chin ( you know, where the windpipe is and stuff like that) He then bit, or grabbed on with his mouth under her neck. At first the ktiten, who was passed out sleeping , didn't do anything. Then she opened her eyes and made this weird sound. I moved the male away from her. He approached again, started to lick her and then bit under her chin again! I got scared because it looked like he was trying to kill her. Is this normal? Is my male cat showing aggressive behavior? Should I seperate them again? I'm afraid that he'll do it again and really hurt her. Please, any help would be appreciated. Thank you =) |
