Do solar screens affect cats behavior?
I have solar screens on my windows and 2 cats. they were active before now not so much.
We move to a new house on Tuesday, will this effect my cats behavior?
She has only lived in this house her whole life 1 human year .Will she have accidents, will she hide? I can just see her sniffin around and wondering where the heck she is
How do I correct my cats behavior?
First, he whines like he just got hit by a car. He sounds like a female cat in heat and whines for no reason. It is the most annoying sound ever and every time he does it I wanna throat punch him as hard as I can.Second, when he lays in bed w me he digs his claws into everything. My ribs, my bed, when I am sleeping, he swats me in the face. I wanna break his little jew legs just so he will stop. I don't wanna get him de clawed b c he is actually useful in killing critters around the property and he probably needs them for that. Anyway, any suggestions would be great. FYI, spray bottles don't work w him.
What could be possible reasons for my cats behavior.?
I have a white tabby cat whom will be six years old in december. She's always been sweet and very responsive. Lately she ignores me unless i kneel down to her. Her tail is limp. Like really she won't lift it all. She won't eat unless I bring it up to her. When I try to lift her now she hisses at me. She growls when her rib cage is touched. She lays around in the same few places everyday. irregular breathing and I am very concerned for her... I attempted to put her in a cage to take her to see a vet but she is determined that she isn't leaving. I don't know what to do for her....someone please help...
Some solutions for my cats behavior towards me?
Okay well my cat is 4. And im 15, i love with my brother and parents That is relevant My dad treats her quite rough which she doesnt like as she runs away when he is finished, also my brother harasses her alot, he pokes her and strokes her wrong etc and messes around with her when shes trying to sleep etc. Me and my mum treat her like a princess. We feed her, play with her nicely, stroke and hold her gently etc she doesn't attack my mum, my dad or brother though, my cat she always goes for me when i stroke her or sometimes just walking past her But she never does it to anyone else.. Infact i treat her the nicest as i dont give her flea treatment and the worm pill For example, this morning she came on my bed i was stroking her and she was purring, i had my arm under my pillow and she went for it.. so i just sat up and told her off not that that made a difference... . So can anyone suggest why she does it just to me? and what can i do to try stop her from doing it? thanks x
My cats behavior is changing and she is being really clingy, do cats sense things like pregnancy?
I have two 5 year old sister cats, I have had them since I found them when they were 2 weeks old dumped in a street. They have always been the most beautiful little things, so loving, calm, caring etc. but just recently one of the cats has become very, very clingy and meows alllllllllll the time if we aren't paying her attention & skitzes out all over the place. I should add that these cats aren't big 'meow'ers they have always been quiet and only really meow when they know there food is coming.Anyway nothing has changed around here, except I am now 30 weeks pregnant. I do remember my cat was really clingy when I was pregnant with my first 3 years ago but she seems out of control this time. What could it be? She doesn't have any signs of any discomfort or illness, she is wormed flead regularly and she lives mainly inside and when outside can't go anywhere so she doesn't have contact with any other cat except her sister.I was just wondering if perhaps sense things like pregnancy and become more clingy. Perhaps she knows there is going to be another little kid in the house and doesn't like the idea of more shared attention. I don't know it has just been weird this last few weeks and I would love to hear thoughts...Thanks
Aggressive cat behavior?
over the past two weeks or so one of our female cats 1 out of 3, 1 male about 15, and 1 females ages 3 and 5, all fixed has been going crazy. it's happened 4 times and its scary. usually it happens when we are feeding them so i have figured i probably just stepped on her but she poofs up makes this awful noise ive never heard before and starts attacking the other two who then poof up scared and hide. i have no clue whats going on. has anyone ever had this happen.unfortunately we are going on vacation next week for a few days and i dont want to leave them home alone. they are usually fine but idk about this time.
Spayed cat behaviour permanent?
Hiya,Just wanted some info from someone who's kept female cats and who's experienced them after a spay. Our little girl cat Molly 10 months has just been spayed 3 days ago and i have a few questions 1, before the op she was a very talkative cat, she'd chirp and click and meow constantly and not just when in heat but since the op i have not heard her make a single noise, is this normal? the vet said she'd be quiet for the first day but now we're getting close to the third day and still nothing, it may sound trivial but the house seems so quiet without her talking to us.2, She is very skittish, withdrawn and keeps hiding, before she was one of these cats who'd follow my fiance and i around the house and cry if we put her in a different room to us for any reason, now she wont even come or even acknowledge me when i call her, earlier she hissed at my fiance for walking past her i've seriously never seen her hiss before except once with an accidental tail stepping on.Of course i understand that spaying is a major op and so i was prepared for some lazy days and so therefore i was not worried that she has lost her lively playfulness but it is the other, more subtle behaviour changes which are worrying me now, is this normal permanent?one final thing, the vet has not given us any pain meds at all should we have been given some? she doesn't seem to be in a great deal of pain and her appetite is fine, in fact she's eaten exactly what she normally does.
Weird cat was stalking me - is this normal cat behavior?!!!?
I was jogging and when I reached my house, I saw this cute black and white cat sit on the curb. As soon as it saw me, it approached me and rubbed itself on my leg. It was cute for a little bit, but soon it started circulating around me. It didnt let me take ONE STEP forward And it started jumping on its back legs in a playful way ive NEVER seen cats do this . This went on for almost 5 minutes or so. So I got really scared and started running towards the house. Of course it RAN after me .. To prevent it from coming into the house I had to scream at it and stomp my foot on the ground really hard. My room is on the second floor and when I looked out 20 minutes later , the cat was sitting on a rock staring at my window Why did it do this? Is this normal cat behaviour?? I am SO scared Thanks for all the answers so far. I would never be mean to it or anything. Maybe if its still there tomorrow I can try giving it some food. I feel kinda bad for getting so scared, but I thought it was some kinda demon cat or something .
Cat behaviour question?
I have a 2 3 yr old cat she was a stray, so her age is a guess by a vet.The vet also believes the cat has been neutered as Jess is not showing any of the usual symptoms of coming into heat. All well and good. However, what Jess has done lately is to dig a sock out of my new trainers I'm breaking them in by wearing them around the house as you do carry it upstairs and drop the sock on the threshold of my bedroom. She's done this about 6 7 times over the past 2 weeks or so and always at night there's no obvious pattern to this but then she's not in the house every night...I find it quite quaint that this young cat is digging out a sock from a shoe and then carrying the sock up to my room and leaving it there My pet theories sorry are either a She's carrying a 'kitten' around and playing 'mum' although I'd have thought she'd take any 'kittens' to her own bed? orb more likely she's 'hunting' it and giving it to me as a present there's been a few mice in various states of mortality left outside my back door recently...She's doesn't appear to be chewing the socks as they are undamaged.I'm sure this is not unique behaviour among cats, but I'd be interested to learn if other cat owners have witnessed this or something similar with their own moggy or can offer an alternative theory.... and before I get any jokes about my foot hygiene let me say that the socks are clean ones TIA
Missing Cat (any vets or people that would know about cat behaviors)?
I've had my cat since he was a kitten, he is about 7 or 8 but hes been missing for 2 days now, a lot of people online said their cats sometimes disappear for a week, my question is, my cat is neutered, would he still have a reason to leave for awhile, or is it only a mating thing so there is no chance thats what he's doing. thank you for any help.hes been an outdoor cat for most of his lifehes been an outdoor cat his whole life
Weird cat behavior, explanations?
There is this male dark gray cat, I think it's a Korat cat , it comes everyday into our appartment flat. Basically it gets inside through some yards and it begins meowing for sometime, then it stops. This cat is doing the same action for like 2 years. Of course in the yards there are like 4 female cats, but I've never seen that male cat to attack them or something, they are actually good friends. But why does it coming everyday & night meowing towards the yards?
I have a few questions about cat behavior. Is it normal for a group of cats not to fight over food?
I've owned lots of cats in the past, but never more than one at a time, so there are some behaviors I have questions about. We have five kittens four months who all eat from the same bowl with no problems. Is this typical of cats? Or will we have to separate them as they reach sexual maturity? If so, will neutering prevent this from happening? We're getting them neutered tomorrow. Is it typical for them to generally stick together? I noticed 3 of the 5 kittens play, climb trees, & run around together, whereas the other two sometimes go off on their own. But they stay together for the most part, like a pack. I find this strange seeing as cats are solitary animals, correct? This last question doesn't really have to do with multiple cats, but I've never seen this behavior before in my other cats. Sometimes the kittens will bush up their tails as if they have been startled by something, but they don't act frightened. Their posture remains relaxed, except for the tail. What does that mean?
