Question: What are some strange stories of your pet cat?
(Posted by: Charlotte on 2010-03-10 00:59:48)
I've got a nine year old Calico cat and he's done some stupid but funny things over the years. I'd love to hear some other stories about your cats. Thanks :) |

I had a cat I got when I was 11 years old, he passed away when I was 28. His name was Baby and he was my and only my baby. He put up with my mom because she fed him sometimes. My brothers and dad were sort of afraid of him because he would scratch them when they picked him up. He would sit on my shoulder and glare at every one. I don't know why he did that, my dad and brothers never did anything to him. So that's my story. |

I used to have 2 white fluffly cats with blue eyes - one was a tiny little girl and the other was an alpha male-- like that cat was STRONG. and they were awsome and had such big personalities. but the guy one, the alpha male lol, he was pretty much crazy, in a good way. like he could be so sweet and cuddly, and then other times he wud just hide out and attack ppl walking down the hall, just for fun. and he would go in these rages and we would have to throw a comforter -- not a towel or blanket - A COMFORTER. over him so that he wouldnt rip us to shreds, and then put him in the basement til he calmed down lol. and i used to bring them in the backyard with me and the little girl was shy and would just stay on a blanket with me as i read or tanned, and the guy learned how to be on a leash and would run around the backyard pouncing on things in the grass; my mom gave them away when i went to university. without telling me, but she had to she always worked they spent the whole day alone. never been so upset in my life probably. but now they live in a nursing home and all the people there looove them. they are like celebrities there. god im sad now lol |

My cat Johnny-cade is about a year old and LOVES babies! no one can come in my home with a baby unless the baby is okay with cats.. I assume it's because they smell like milk but he really loves to lick and nuzzle but NEVER swat at babies.... |

My cat loves when I build castle out of blankets for him. Once I build one so amazing he wouldn't let me destroy it. Me and my brother pretended he was the king and bowed to him and he would smack us on the head lol |

My parents told me this story~ Happened before I was born-it was my mum's birthday. My mum was in the shower, Dad made her a chocolate cake and went out to get some cream. Came back dad swore-mum came out going 'What? What?' And there was the cat...Eating her chocolate birthday cake! XD (And it was a good chunk of it too!) Another story is with one of my current cats-Isabell. At our old, old house when I was really young (and her as well XP). I always took baths. She loved jumping up onto the ledge and keep me company-sometimes I would splash her a little bit if she wasn't on the ledge for fun-she didn't mind. One day-she was on the ledge like normal and I was watching her....then she slipped and fell down INTO THE WATER! SHE SAT IN THERE FOR A GOOD THREE SECONDS BEFORE JUMPING OUT! IT WAS SOOOOOO FUNNY! Then my mum came in about two seconds later and scowled at me because she didnt like me splashing water on her in the first place even though I found it fun. I just turned around and said "SHE FELL INTO THE BATH!!! " She just cracked up laughing! :) |

Hi Charlotte, I once had a little gray kitten staying with me for 3 weeks while his owners were on vacation. They told me he had weird tastes in food and that he loved fruit. Well, I thought this was funny, so while eating a cantaloupe, I presented it for him to sniff. He hesitated at first, but soon started licking it furiously. I tried other water-filled fruits and he loved them all. I thought it had something to do with the water because he devoured cantaloupe, grapes, watermelon, honeydew melons... and then, I decided to try pineapple one day, thinking there's no way he'll ever eat it... He went apeshit over it! From that point on, I let him try whatever I ate, just to see how far he'd go. I never gave him much, in case he couldn't digest it, but he wasn't a tiny kitty, he was 10 months old so I wasn't putting him in danger or anything... Well that cat was apeshit for pineapple, loved spaghetti sauce and was gaga for green olives... One day, I was going to have a banana and I figured I'd let him sniff that too. So I start peeling my banana, call him over and he comes running, knowing he's getting yet another treat. Well, he'd loved everything I'd presented him with up to then, so he came running at that banana. I'd barely had time to finish peeling it and was holding it by the bottom, peels hanging over my hand, when I leaned to the floor and he ran to me. He got to the banana, sniffed it happily and... the smell seemed to startle him, he recoiled back and smacked it! It broke off and fell to the ground. Within 3 seconds, I'd peeled my banana, let him sniff it and it had been smacked and sent to the ground. It was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. To this day, I tell everyone I know to have their cat sniff a banana just to see if they'll do the same. There's something about them. They smell sweet and yummy to us yet they turn cats completely off. |

My cat learned how to open the drawer where I keep his treats. I have a tall skinny dresser thingy and in the bottom drawer I kept a lot of his treats and toys. He learned really quick that this was a very very good drawer, and would run into the room whenever he heard someone open it. One day mr. smarty pants apparently learned how to open that drawer. I found everything out all over the room and all his treats ripped open and the contents eaten. Can you believe my CAT did this? Sounds like more of a puppy to me! Now his treats and toys are in a different place lol. |

My cat O.J. (Orange Julius) is almost 8 months old. He likes to take showers in the kitchen sink. When I lay a towel on the floor, he will jump down on it as if to dry off on it. Everytime I open up a bottle of Dr. Pepper, he will stare me down, then look at the lid until i give it to him. It has to be the red bottle caps or he's not interested. He will only eat canned cat food if it's sitting on top of the dish washer, and will only eat dry food if it's sitting on a piece of cardboard by the fridge. He is a laugh a minute. |

I have 2 cats and they do lots of quirky and amusing things i.e Dodge( he's male) - when he is hungry and wants me to kmow it! he will open the kitchen cupboard where ( he knows) his food is kept, pretty clever huh? though I don't think he has thought through what to do next!! Silky my younger female cat sometimes will sit in the bath, ( obviously there is NO water in there!!) She loves licking the salt of crisps( any flavour!!) and Dodge goes mad for Ham! |
